If you prick your finger, what do you do?

If you prick your finger while sawing, what do you do?

Case in point:

I pricked my finger while sewing my torn blanket. I just let some blood to ooze out and then washed my puncture wound with soap and water.  Then pressed on the puncture wound.  The bleeding stopped in a 1 to 2 minutes.

I did not have to go to the emergency room to have an anti-tetanus injection.

If you go to the emergency room, the physicians there will give you anti-tetanus injection and a prescription of antibiotics.  That’s the usual protocol of emergency rooms.
