Breast Cancer Survivor Jennifer Pereyra– 12 Years in Remission

Ms. Jennifer Pereyra was 33 years old in 2007 when she underwent modified radical mastectomy by me.  Histopath showed invasive ductal carcinoma.  The primary tumor was about 4 cm. Nodes were negative for metastasis.  ERA / PRA were negative.  She underwent 6 cycles of CMF chemotherapy after the operation. Cancer surveillance was done using symptom-sign-directed approach.

On May 16, 2019, at age 44 years old, she proudly came to me and said she is now a breast cancer survivor at 12 years and asked a picture taken with me and publicized to serve as an inspiration to others.  She will be 12 years in remission by September 2019.  We both thank God for this long remission.
