Breast Cancer Survivor Lucia Carrasco – 10 Years in Remission

Ms. Lucia Carrasco was 58 years old when I did a modified radical mastectomy on her breast cancer in 2007.  The histopathology report showed invasive ductal carcinoma with negative nodes.  She did not receive any additional postoperative treatment.  Just surveillance (symptom-sign-directed with regular clinical examination).

She visited me today, July 6, 2017 and happily told me she is now 10 years in remission and without any additional postoperative treatment.  We had a selfie taken.  She asked me to post our picture in my Cancer Survivors Registry.  She is proud of it.  She likes to serve as an inspiration to other people.  She is now 68 years old.  Again, 10 years in remission.  We both thank God for this long remission.
