Pallliation with Hope

Here is a nice article:

Hope Is Palliative

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4718434/

I agree.

I call it palliation with hope.

Treat the terminally-ill patient with palliative measures but still with hope for recovery albeit small.

A tall order for any physician and patients and relatives as well.

Extent of palliative measures will be decided by all stakeholders.

Here is an illustration – inflammatory breast carcinoma in a 94-year-old female. Relatives have decided against aggressive measures like chemotherapy and radiation.  Hormonal therapy was tried.
