Ms. Maria Ruaro, the mother-in-law of my very good friend, Dr. Bootsie Ruaro, was operated by yours truly in 1986 when she was 66 years old. I did a modified radical mastectomy. There was no additional treatment after the operation. Ms. Maria Ruaro was 91 years old when she died of a cause other than her breast cancer in December 2011 (most likely heart-related). There was no evidence of breast cancer recurrence 25 years after her operation. The family and I thank God for the non-recurrence of her breast cancer which can be considered as a cure.
